Membership Types

            

To qualify for membership with the German CFA Society, prospective members must also simultaneously join or have previously been accepted for membership by CFA Institute.

There are several types of membership available to applicants:

 

None of these membership types allows you to use the CFA designation if one of following is not fulfilled:

  • 4 years of relevant work experience (accumulated before, during or after the exam)
  • Professional Conduct Statement
  • Join CFA Institute and apply for society membership
  • Member dues - CFA Institute member in good standing

 

* PCS = professional conduct statement that confirms adherence to Professional Code and Standards - with CFA Institute or German CFA Society
** Acceptable work experience includes activities that consist to a majority extent of evaluating or applying financial, economic, and/or statistical data as part of the investment decision-making process; or supervising, directly or indirectly, those who practice such activities; or teaching such activities. The investment decision-making process is the professional practice of financial analysis, investment management, security analysis, or similar activities. Applicants are required to spend 50% or more of their time in these activities to accrue the required work experience for Regular Membership.
