About German CFA Society
The German CFA Society brings together more than 1400 investment professionals recognized for their superior knowledge and ethics in the investment field.
Founded in September, 2000, the German CFA Society is one of 136 investment societies in 55 countries that are part of the CFA Institute. The society represents the Germany-based investment community within the global CFA Institute network and continues to work toward promoting the highest ethical standards and professional excellence in the global investment community. We seek to provide valuable services to our members, provide a national forum for exchanging ideas, raise awareness of the CFA program, support CFA candidates, advocate the interests of the German investment community with national and European regulatory authorities, and actively participate in all relevant organs and committees of CFA Institute.
About CFA Institute

CFA Institute is a global non-profit professional membership organization of over 90,000 analysts, portfolio managers and other investment professionals in 136 societies worldwide. CFA Institute’s mission is to advance the interests of the global investment community by establishing and maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence and integrity. Ethics is the cornerstone of CFA Institute’s service to the investment industry.
CFA Institute develops and administers the CFA Program, a globally recognized standard for measuring the competence and integrity of financial analysts and investment managers. The CFA Program curriculum develops and reinforces a fundamental knowledge of investment principles. Given annually in over 70 countries, the three levels of examination measure a candidate's ability to apply these principles at a professional level. We strongly believe that the CFA designation truly sets the global standard for investment integrity. In June 2010 over 104.000 candidates worldwide are registered to take the Chartered Financial Analyst examination.
All CFA Institute members, CFA charterholders, and CFA candidates must adopt and adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct (Code and Standards). Because CFA Institute believes that the CFA Institute Code and Standards reflect the highest ethical principles and that members strongly differentiate themselves by their adherence to them, CFA Institute requires its members to reaffirm their compliance annually in writing.
