10 Years of German CFA Society
On June 10th the German CFA Society celebrated its tenth anniversary with a big party for its members, candidates, partners and sponsors. Our society also celebrated its move towards professionalization with the founding of an office and the hiring of an executive director in its tenth year. The society has been working actively to change from a purely volunteer-based organization to a society structure 2.0; a very productive combination of professional management AND voluntary engagement..
The evening started with a prominent key speaker: Roger Urwin from TowerWatson presented his opinion on the past, the present and the future of asset management. He was followed by Ray DeAngelo, Director at CFA Institute and Susan Spinner,CFA, who presented the development of CFA Institute and the German Society in a very entertaining fashion. On the same day, the first university partnership in Germany was officially announced. The participants of the anniversary event saw Ray DeAngelo and Mannheim’s Dean, Dr. Jürgen B. Schneider signing the cooperation. The official program closed with a panel of young charterholders speaking about their personal experiences with the CFA.
The event with more than 150 participants and five sponsors was the largest the German CFA Society had ever organized.
